Bruins Land Taylor Hall, Curtis Lazar in trade with Sabers

UPDATE (08:00 ET): It’s official: the Boston Bruins are Taylor Hall and Curtis Lazar acquired of the Buffalo Sabers in exchange for Anders Bjork and a second round of 2021, the team announced Monday morning.

ORIGINAL STORY: Taylor Hall is reportedly on his way to the Bruins.

Boston acquired Hall and forward Curtis Lazar of the Buffalo Sabers late Sunday night in exchange for Anders Bjork and a second round, according to SportsNet’s Elliotte Friedman and TSNs Darren Dreger.

Athletics’ Pierre Le Brun reported that the Sabers will also retain half of what’s left on Hall’s $ 8 million salary. He will become a free agent after the season.

Hall, who took first place overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL draft in 2010, scored 19 points (two goals, 17 shots) in 37 games for the Sabers during the 2020-21 NHL season. The 29-year-old forward also played for the Arizona Coyotes and New Jersey Devils, with whom he won the Hart Memorial Trophy for the 2017-18 season.
