CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Browns received two good news on Thursday if they want to spend this offseason in free agencies.
First, the league, in partnership with the NFLPA, agreed to increase the minimum for this year’s salary cap from $ 175 million to $ 180 million. The $ 180 million amount is not the final number for the cap – it has not been determined yet – but it is the lowest number they can land on if they determine the cap figure.
More importantly, the Browns will take over most of the team space, according to a tweet from the NFLPA, at $ 30.4 million, nearly $ 4 million more than second-place Jets at $ 26.7 million; $ 7 million more than third-place Jaguars, which carry more than $ 23.5 million; and nearly $ 8 million more than the Eagles at $ 22.8 million.
The transfer limit for each team is added to the base salary ceiling to determine the final ceiling number of each team.
According to Overthecap.com, the Browns are in 10th place at $ 20.2 million, based on an amount of $ 180 million, before adding a transfer capital.
