Brown offensive player ratings against the Steelers: Who was elite, average and replaceable in Week 17?

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Browns averaged 358 yards on offense, averaging 5.8 yards per game Sunday against the Steelers. To give a better picture of how the offense performed, here’s how Pro Football Focus analysts rated the Browns’ attacking players.

(PFF grade on a scale of 0-100, with higher grades indicating better play. PFF explained his degrees as follows: 100-90 elite; 89-85 Pro Bowler; 84-70 starter; 69-60 backup; 59-0 replaceable. In other words, not too different from how we would compare percentages with traditional letter grade at school.)

Baker Mayfield: 82.4.

Note: Mayfield was under pressure on 10 rebounds, resulting in 3-of-3 passes for 20 yards and four sacks. He had four seasons’ first downhill highs.

RUN BACK

Nick Chubb: 80.1.

Kareem Hunt: 49.8.

Andy Janovich: 59.1.

Note: Chubb chased five avoided attacks, three runs over 10 yards and an average of 6.64 yards after contact, a season high. Hunt had 24 of his 37 yards after contact. Janovich played three snaps.

WIDE RECEIVER

KhaDarel Hodge: 77.9.

Jarvis Landry: 73.2.

Donovan Peoples-Jones: 69.5.

Rashard Higgins: 69.1.

Note: Hodge, Higgins and Landry jointly provided seven first catches.

STIFF END

Austin Hooper: 70.3.

David Njoku: 62.3.

Stephen Carlson: 51.3.

Note: Hooper had four first catches, and he gave up a bag to protect his pass.

Jack Conklin: 84.6, 63.0.

Joel Bitonio: 74.0, 57.0.

JC Tretter: 64.2, 70.2.

Jedrick Wills Jr .: 34.5, 77.7.

Note: None of the offensive lineouts were responsible for a bag. Bitonio allowed one pressure and had two penalties. Teller allowed four pushes and Wills had two.
