‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, ‘Good Girls’ and ‘Never Have I Ever’ among universal TV series delaying production amid Covid-19 Surge in Los Angeles

Universal Television has partnered with CBS Studios and Warner Bros. TV pushed the return to production after the current holiday break for shows in Los Angeles that would be filmed again next week, the week of January 4th.

The NBCU studio extends the holiday silence of NBC comedies Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Mayor and Kenan, NBC dramedy Good girls, Netflix Comedy Never have I ever had and HBO Max comedy Hacks.

Production on everything but Brooklyn Nine-Nine will resume January 11; the veteran cop comedy will begin filming on January 18th.

The TV studios are responding to a call by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, which called on the film and TV industry days ago to suspend production for several weeks during the continuing increase in coronavirus cases in the country. Studios and streamers immediately began investigating the logistics of the ongoing production, including the availability of talent and whether cast and crew would be paid for the extra idle week.

If production is delayed while the test resumes, it adjusts production in accordance with the new Los Angeles Department of Public Health guideline for those arriving at least ten days after non-essential travel to self-quarantine.

On New Year’s Eve, Los Angeles County reported a third consecutive day of coronavirus-related deaths. On Wednesday, the region recorded its 10,000th death related to the virus. The province’s ICU capacity is at 0%. Earlier this week, the local home order for Southern California was extended until January 16th.
