Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant remains NBA All-Star Game captain, though he has not played

NEW YORK – Kevin Durant of Brooklyn Nets will continue to serve as an NBA All-Star Game captain despite a thigh muscle injury that keeps him out of the game.

Durant and his co-captain LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Game will each draw a roster from the pool of select All-Stars. The All-Star concept will air on TNT on March 4th.

It was unclear whether Durant would travel to Atlanta for the March 7 game.

Durant missed the Nets’ last seven games with a thigh muscle and was ruled out by the All-Star result. NBA commissioner Adam Silver named Domantas Sabonis as Durant’s replacement in the game, and Jayson Tatum was considered an All-Star starter in Durant’s absence.

Durant is an 11-year-old All-Star, scoring 29 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists for Brooklyn this season.
