Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s relationship ended in 2002, but after the debut of Framed by Britney Spears, social media demands that the singer of the “Holy Grail” apologize for the fact that she threw Britney under the bus “.

On Friday, The New York Times presents aired the 75-minute documentary on FX and Hulu, setting out the explosive tales that overshadowed the pop star’s epic career: the 2008 mental health collapse that inspired her father Jamie Spears’ conservatory (currently until September 3, 2021), and the #FreeBritney movement led by supporters who support Spears’ financial independence.

The documentary specifically looks at a 2003 interview between ABC’s Diane Sawyer and Spears, which put her in the hot seat after the couple’s breakup and rumors that she cheated on Timberlake, following the release of her 2002 ‘Cry Me a River ‘music video in which he appears. take revenge on a Spears-like character.

In the interview, Sawyer asks Spears: ‘You broke his heart, you did something that caused him so much pain and so much suffering. What did you do? “The journalist also pressed Spears at her wedding to Timberlake, to which she replied:” I think everyone has a side of their story to make them feel a certain way … and I say not technically that he’s wrong, but I’m not technically saying he’s right too. “

Spears also told Sawyer that she felt “exploited” by a radio interview in New York with Timberlake in which he jokingly said that the couple slept together.

Some social media users have complained that Timberlake, including people in Spears’ life, was responsible for inflicting ‘mental torture’ on the star. “He’s the worst,” someone tweeted. ‘I was very disgusted by Justin Timberlake and how he dragged Britney through the mud like that. Gross, ”wrote another. “He took full advantage of the private relationship,” someone else tweeted. Many have asked Timberlake to apologize to Spears.

And some have claimed that Timberlake’s behavior was a prelude to the failure of his joint performance with Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl in 2004. While singing Timberlake’s song “Rock Your Body”, he praised Alexander McQueen, a bustier of Jackson, touched and accidentally exposed her breast (which was covered by a nipple shield). Jackson released a video apology, which she later told Oprah Winfrey she regretted, because of Timberlake’s role in the incident. And Timberlake apologizes, saying, “I’m sorry if someone offended the wardrobe malfunction during the Super Bowl halftime performance. It was not intentional and it’s unfortunate.” Although he admitted years later that he had received less blame for the incident.

A Timberlake spokesman did not immediately respond to Yahoo Entertainment’s request for comment.

Nearly two decades after their famous outburst, Spears, a mother-of-two who dates coach Sam Asghari, and Timberlake, who share two children with wife Jessica Biel, continued. In January, she shared an Instagram video of her dance on ‘Holy Grail’ by her ex and Jay-Z. In April, another video of herself showed Spears regretting Timberlake’s ‘Filthy’.

“Good song JT” she wrote on Instagram. In response, Timberlake posted a series of happy emojis.
