Britney Spears Conservatory: How Nancy Grace Thinks The #FreeBritney Saga Will End

Iconic pop star Britney Spears continues her legal battle after her father, Jamie Spears, placed her in a legal conservatory.

Fox Nation host Nancy Grace told Fox & Friends on Friday that steps were being taken to remove her father as a conservator altogether, but stressed that it was “not that easy”.

In her latest episode of ‘Crime Stories, now available on Fox Nation, Grace delves into the controversial issue with investigative reporter Alexis Tereszcuk and psychoanalyst Dr. Bethany Marshall.

Spears’ controversy has come to light again following the launch of the documentary Framing Britney Spears, which aired on FX and Hulu earlier this month.

The legal conservatory dates back to the time when the ‘Baby One More Time’ singer lost autonomy in 2008, following her public collapse when she shaved her head. Spears was also placed in a psychiatric ward within the same year.

Grace said after the tragic series of events, Jamie Spears gained control of the singer’s estate and helped her perform again. The pop star got a residency in Las Vegas and brought in more than $ 30 million a year.

At 39, the 39-year-old singer announced that she would be on an “indefinite timeout” of her Las Vegas stay due to “emotional distress” and go to a mental health facility. According to her lawyer Samuel Ingham, the pop icon will not resume her music career as long as her father controls her estate via her conservatory.

The court ruled last week that her father would remain co-custodian over his daughter’s estate, along with Bessemer Trust Co., a decision her ex-husband, Kevin Federline,’s family lawyer.

“Big break in the case. The judge in LA Superior Court, Judge Penny, just ruled on the father’s objection that he should share the conservancy with Bessemer Trust, a wealth management business,” Grace explained.

The pop star’s sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, recently pronounced her after the court for co-conservatism ruled and apparently acts as her trustee. Other celebrities and fans are taking part in the #FreeBritney movement and demanding that the star be released from her legal guardianship.

Grace predicted that Britney “would seek the termination of the conservatory” after a court removed her father as co-conservator.

“It’s amazing to see. Do you ever see any male pop stars in this situation?” Grace asked, saying Spears should get out of this trust as soon as possible.
