The boyfriend, who has not yet been nominated, told investigators that he and Heslop from St. Louis were around 10 p.m. John returned to the vessel and went to sleep, U.S. Coast Guard spokesman Ricardo Castrodad told Virgin Island Daily News on Thursday.

The boyfriend called police to report Heslop missing the next day at 11:46 and told them to “wake up at 2am and realize she’s not on board,” Castrodad said. The boyfriend said that Heslop’s cellphone and other belongings were still on board, and that the dinghy was still tied up.

Police and volunteers have launched a massive search for Heslop, with divers searching the waters along the coastline, the newspaper reported. But searchers found no sign of Heslop.

Castrodad said the visibility and conditions in the sea were excellent for the search, but divers found no sign of anyone in the water. He told the newspaper that there was no evidence to suggest that Heslop had ever penetrated the water, raising further questions about the 41-year-old’s mysterious disappearance.

Fox Nation’s Nancy Grace investigated the timing of Heslop’s disappearance on ‘Fox & Friends’ on Monday morning.

“I’m curious why it took him almost ten hours to notice someone,” Grace says of Heslop’s boyfriend.

Grace also pointed out that despite the obvious circumstances, police found no signs of a person in the water.

“It’s very difficult to do a water search, you can not see so far in front of your face,” said the host of Fox Nation’s ‘Crime Stories with Nancy Grace’. “But in those waters you can see many feet further, so I’m very curious why nothing shows up.”

Heslop’s friends have set up a missing Sarm Heslop Facebook page to share information about the search, while police are investigating the disappearance.

Police in the Virgin Islands have asked someone with information regarding the location of Heslop to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211.
