A left-wing British baroness has proposed a curfew at 6pm to make men ‘women’ much safer in the streets of London during a debate on Wednesday in the British Parliament’s House of Lords.
Green Party member Jenny Jones, formally called Moulsecoomb’s Baroness Jones, made the remark after the disappearance and alleged murder of a 33-year-old woman from London named Sarah Everard.
‘In the week that Sarah Everard was abducted and presumably killed – because remains were found in a bushveld in Kent – I argue that I could submit an amendment at the next opportunity for bills that are appropriate. to create an evening clock rule for men on the street after 18:00, ‘she said during a debate on domestic violence. “I feel it would make women much safer, and reduce discrimination of all kinds.”
“I responded to the local police telling women not to go out alone at night by putting the idea on their head,” Jones later explained in a Facebook post.

Everard went missing in London on the evening of March 3 after leaving her friend’s home in the Clapham suburb of London to walk to her own home in Brixton, about 3 miles away, according to city police.

London Metropolitan Police have released this image of Sarah Everard following her disappearance last week.

A Metropolitan police officer has been arrested in connection with Everard’s death on the grounds of kidnapping, murder and indecent exposure, police said.
“I speak on behalf of all my colleagues in the Met when I say that we are utterly appalled by this terrible news,” Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick told a news conference on Wednesday. “Our job is to patrol the streets and protect people.”

She stressed that it is ‘incredibly rare for a woman to be abducted’ in the city’s streets.
“But I understand this despite the fact that women in London and the general public, especially those in the area where Sarah went missing, will be worried and that they may feel scared,” she adds.
Local media identified the officer as Wayne Couzens, who was working on diplomatic service stationed at the U.S. Embassy. His wife, Elena, was arrested for assisting an offender, the Sun reported.
Human remains were discovered at a golf course in Kent, where Everard was last seen, but authorities have not yet identified it in public.

After a video of Jones’ comments appeared, #CurfewForMen appeared on Twitter.
“Since my remarks about a curfew rule for men to keep women safe, I have had an avalanche of misogynistic emails and tweets,” the baroness later tweeted. “Which proves my point about the problem with men rather.”
