Framed by Britney Spears‘Most disturbing moments
Sam supported Britney during her difficult times, including during her stay in a mental health treatment center in 2019 after her cancellation of a concert stay in Las Vegas. He was also there for the pop star amid her long legal battle to remove her father, Jamie Spears, of his role as co-conservator.
Britney’s father controlled her affairs and personal affairs under a conservatory issued by a court in 2008, shortly after the ‘Toxic’ singer was admitted to hospital for psychiatric treatment. Her unrest and court case are set out in the controversial Hulu and FX documentary Framed by Britney Spears, which also highlights the growing #FreeBritney movement.
After the film was released, the lawsuit sparked renewed interest and controversy, and Sam broke his silence over Britney’s unrest. He told People in a statement: “I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her in pursuing her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves. I am grateful for all the the love and support she receives from her fans around the world, and I look forward to a normal, wonderful future together. ‘
At the same time, Sam also made public comments about Britney’s father for the first time.
“It’s important now for people to understand that I have no respect for anyone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles in our way,” he wrote on Instagram. “In my opinion, Jamie is a total dick. I will not give more details about it, because I have always respected our privacy, but at the same time I did not come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom.”
Jamie, 68, did not respond to Sam’s comments. Britney’s conservatory was extended to September 2021 in December last year, during which her father spoke to CNN about the singer and their lawsuit.
“I love my daughter and I miss her very much,” he said. “When a family member needs special care and protection, families, as I have done for the past twelve years, must act to protect, protect and sustain Britney unconditionally.”
He continued, “I have and will continue to offer unwavering love and fierce protection against those with self-interest and those who want to harm her or my family.”
