Brewers beat the Cubs 4-0

The Milwaukee Brewers played against the Cubs tonight on a losing streak of three games. It ended when Milwaukee took the lead early and never gave up. However, the storyline in this game was just about Brewers’ pitching.

Freddy Peralta got the start in this one, and he was amazing. Although he was certainly ineffective, only going through five innings and walking four, he was very effective. Over those five overs, Peralta gave up just one shot and hit five. The Cubs’ cubs got confused all night when Peralta caused swing-and-miss due to his combination with the move, fast ball and curve.

Brent Suter, Peralta. Like Peralta, Suter was not very effective, but he was certainly effective. Suter covered the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, and he hit two while frustrating the timing of the Cubs’ hits.

While not an insulting explosion, the Brewers offense turned up at least tonight. The Brewers turned things around at the top for the first time. With one out in turn, Daniel Vogelbach takes a turn. Vogelbach later drove to third place when Christian Yelich sang past Anthony Rizzo’s glove. Both runners are jogging home, while Travis Shaw is running back to 2018 with a three-run over the field hammer.

Omar Narvaez provided the power behind the fourth and final run of the match. In the top of the fourth, Narvaez launched a solo shot over the left midfield to make it 4-0. That 4-0 score would stand for the rest of the night.

That said, things got interesting in the ninth place when the benches cleared. Last night, Willson Contreras was hit in the head by a wild tone. Brad Boxberger hit Contreras again tonight, but this time it was in the arm. Contreras took exception when he held up two fingers to show that this was the second time he had been hit by a pitcher from Brewers. With a score of 0-2 and a 4-0 lead, it is unlikely that Boxberger tried to beat Narvaez, but Narvaez was emotional about the matter.

The Brewers and Cubs finish this series in three games at Wrigley Field tomorrow afternoon. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:20 CT. Brandon Woodruff gets the ball for Milwaukee against Kyle Hendricks. Listen to the game on WTMJ 620 or Brewers Radio Network. Bally Sports Wisconsin will broadcast the game on television.
