Breweries, wineries and distilleries will soon be allowed to operate outside the entire country – even if they do not serve food – in the latest weakening of the coronavirus business restrictions in California.
As usual, however, business will remain a distant concept, even in the strictest category of the reopening plan for the four categories of state.
At institutions in provinces in the purple or red level, the two strictest protectors must make reservations and be subject to a time limit of 90 minutes, and consumption on the premises must stop after 20:00. new state health guidelines in effect Saturday.
These businesses could start opening indoors as their home tales progress, although capacity will be limited to 25% or 100 people, whichever is the least, in the lighter orange level and 50% or 200 people, whichever is less, in the least strict yellow level.
Breweries, wineries and distilleries that do serve food will still apply under the same rules that apply to restaurants.
Despite the relaxation of restrictions on some liquor services, non-food bars remain completely in the purple and red levels.
However, it may reopen in the open air with changes in the orange level. As of Saturday, pubs can open indoors in yellow provinces, with capacity limited to 25% or 100 people, whichever is less.
While the new guideline gives the provinces the opportunity to schedule the additional reopening, it remains to be seen whether local health officials will go as far as the state allows.
The Los Angeles County Public Health Department has not yet announced whether it will join its leadership with the state.
Los Angeles County restaurants, gyms, museums and movie theaters will be allowed to reopen for indoor activities, according to a public health announcement made Thursday.
The reopening will be triggered as soon as California reaches its goal of administering 2 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to residents in the most disadvantaged areas – which is likely to happen on Friday.
