Brett Favre, the Hall of Fame’s fullback, has every right to express his opinion on any subject he wishes to speak on. And anyone who chooses to respond to Favre’s opinion with his own opinion has the right to do so.
Case in point: Favre examined the Deshaun Watson situation in Houston. Watson wants out, and the team did not slam the door on the possibility of trading him. Favre, who spoke to Yahoo Sports, offered a quote that can be called pretty nonsensical at best.
‘You’re paid a ton of money do a certain job, and just do it, and drop the chips where it’s allowed, ”Favre said. ‘I think we’re earning too much money to give an opinion, but I’m not saying he’s wrong. I think it’s a different day and time again, and it will be interesting to see how the organization handles it. ”
So, basically, Favre says Watson should keep quiet and play, but maybe he should not, because maybe he’s right and things are different than they used to be and let’s see if the Texans give Watson the thing he does or not ‘ have no right to ask for.
Watson’s agent, David Mulugheta, simply thinks Favre should keep quiet. ‘Brett must be sure to stop throwing stones from that glass house in which he sits, ”Mulugheta said on Twitter.
Mulugheta is right. Favre basically held the Packers hostage for years with his relentless thoughts on retirement. When he retired, he decided he wanted to play for someone other than the Packers. Therefore, he emerges out of the blue and forces a trade. He desperately wanted to be traded in the NFC North. The Packers refused, but Favre ended up with the Jets in Minnesota after a season.
How does Favre in 2008 differ then what Watson will do in 2021? The only difference is that Favre took a full year to get what he wanted.
