Breath of the Wild unveiled sequel – UPDATE: After all, not so new

UPDATE: It looks like this information comes from a GamesRadar pamphlet from 2019. It’s not that new after all. Sorry for the mess. Original article below:

News of the previously announced sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been scarce since its debut preview in 2019. Even the content was minimal, with very little context for Link and Zelda’s new adventure. Now, however, it seems that more information may be on the way.

A reddit pos name a Nintendo marketing pamphlet with a photo with the following details:

Finally, Link and Zelda return in the long-awaited sequel to the unforgettable action adventure The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with series producer Eiji Aonuma promising a darker adventure this time around. Deep inside the caves below Hyrule Castle, a new and powerful threat is emerging. Can our brave heroes save the kingdom again?

This is the first confirmation indicating where the trailer took place, and it repeats the expected darker tone. It also uses the word “sequel” for the new game, rather than sequel or something similar.

It is still minimal, and no other characters from this pamphlet (which apparently also briefly contains No More Heroes 3 and Bayonetta 3) were shared outside of this image. As the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series is announced this month, we’ll probably know sooner rather than later.
