Although The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild came out almost four years ago, attracting people unbelievable achievements in the game. Example: this player nails a Guardian with an arrow more than 1,400 meters away.

Neko is a Breath of nature player from Japan with an extensive resume of impressive achievements, many of which are cataloged in their name Youtube and Twitter pages. But the video they uploaded yesterday definitely takes the cake.

After jumping from the balcony of the Temple of Time near the start of the game, Neko shoots an antique arrow into the air. This is only by following the arrow over a large distance (and more than one loading zone) with a “Bullet time bounce” that Neko can show the destination of the projectile: an unsuspecting guardian, who will soon be reduced to a heap of smoke and debris.

Neko says the Guardian is more than 1,400 meters from their starting position, but that is not a number they guessed. By combining the mini-game Bird Man Research Study (which measures how far you can drive with Link’s para-glider) with a few flaws, Neko can get a fairly accurate distance for their sharpshooter. This is all explained in the video (make sure you turn on English subtitles if you can not read Japanese).

Breath of nature is one of the best open world games of all time, and it’s a testament to how well the developers of Nintendo have combined complex mechanics with a rich physics-based environment that continues to challenge players in this way.
