On October 1, 1971, Walt Disney World Resort officially opened to guests for the first time, culminating in years of imagining, planning, and developing Walt Disney’s magical dream. In the five decades since, the holiday destination has continued to expand with new stories and characters and adventures to cherish for a lifetime. And now, with a major milestone approaching, guests can take part in ‘The World’s Most Magical Celebration’ from 1 October 2021 in honor of the 50th anniversary resortde anniversary.
Walt Disney World Resort will award ‘The World’s Most Magical Celebration’ in honor of their 50th anniversarydeanniversary, bringing new experiences to all four theme parks and beyond. This milestone is such a big deal, Disney has even created a new word – “EARidescence” – to describe what guests will see when they visit. Disney teams create all sorts of new decorations that will sparkle all day and into the night.

As part of the celebration, Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park will be contributing its royal look from last year. The castle contains gold bunting and a 50de commemorative coat of arms as part of its festive new look.

The castle will provide even more magic at night, along with icons at each of the other three theme parks, while turning into Beacons of Magic, including pixie dust at Cinderella Castle, magical fireflies flying in the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park live, and special new ticks coming to life at the Hollywood Tower Hotel in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

And at EPCOT, new lights will shine across the reflective panels of Spaceship Earth, interconnecting and looking like stars in a night sky. This permanent new lighting goes beyond ‘The World’s Most Magical Celebration’ as a feature of the park.

Guests also want to watch Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, who will have sparkling new looks for the celebration. As the host of the event, they will be dressed for the occasion in custom fashions of EARidescent material with gold highlights.
We have much more to share about the plans for this 18 month long ‘The World’s Most Magical Celebration’ in the future as Disney’s big day arrives on October 1st!
