Brazos County ICU Occupancy Still Hospitalized at 131%, 68 residents in the province

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Brazos County Health District reported 103 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Brazos County. There are currently 1,857 active cases.

No new deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. There were 152 total deaths in Brazos County related to COVID-19.

12,183 patients are classified as recovering, meaning they were fever-free for 72 hours without antipyretic medication, and that was ten days after the onset of symptoms.

43 percent of the newly confirmed cases come from the 18-24 age group.

There have been 2,788 probable cases in Brazos County since June 18, 2020. A probable case of COVID-19 is determined by a positive antigen test. Confirmed COVID-19 cases are determined by a positive PCR test. The health district conducts case investigations on all confirmed and probable cases.

There are currently 390 active probabilistic cases and 2,398 probable cases have been recovered.

The total number of confirmed positive cases in the province since the start of the testing is 14,192. 144,528 tests were performed.

The total hospital bed occupancy in Brazos County is 83 percent, and the total ICU bed occupancy is 131 percent.

Currently, 68 residents of Brazos County have been hospitalized for COVID-19.

Most of the Brazos Valley falls under areas for trauma services N (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington). Trauma Service Area N currently reports 603 hospital beds with 85 beds available. According to the state’s latest data, the region has 0 available ICU beds and 56 available fans. The state’s latest update confirmed 154 COVID-19 patients currently in the hospital by laboratory.

Texas A&M University

The Texas A&M COVID-19 Dashboard reported 53 new cases and 490 active cases on Jan. 15.

Currently, the university reported 4,890 positive cases, 7.2 percent of the tests came back positive.

The last update of the dashboard was provided on 17 January 2021.

Statewide, Texas, has an estimated 383,755 active cases and 1,677,588 recovery cases. There were 2,113,962 total cases reported and 18,094,723 total tests (both viral and antibody).

To date, 32,038 Texans have died from COVID-19.

Currently, 1,109,874 Texans have been vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 166,934 Texans have been completely vaccinated. Across Texas, 1,723,675 doses are shipped.

254 of 254 counties in the state of Texas are currently reporting cases. Harris County leads the state in total cases with 281,422 cases reported.
