While NBA teams apparently do not expect the Wizards to make offers at the moment for Beal, the NBA’s leading scorer, it feels as if he will be out of the country’s capital sooner rather than later.
No team is perhaps better equipped to lure the Wizards to tackle their best player than the Warriors. A package around James Wiseman and Minnesota Timberwolves’ 2021 top-three protected first-round pick is hard to tackle. This will give the Wizards three young elite talents to begin their rebuilding (Washington will also pick a top pick next year).
Although any trading package would start with the two assets, the Warriors would also need to find a way to adjust Beal’s salary to make the deal work. Following this, we will look at four potential deals – which include Wiseman and the T-Wolves’ choice – that the Warriors could put together to capture Beal and start their dynasty.
