The 26-year-old is known as a player who can get out of the basket. He offers offense, which the Celtics bench need a lot except for Evan Fournier, who was acquired on the deadline. His defense is simply not a phone card.
“We mostly look at him as a man who can play for us four (power forward), but also a small ball five (in the middle) in some setups,” Stevens said. ‘Especially around some of our better players as ball shifter, as passer, as playmaker, as manager, as a man who can put the ball in the basket and is a real threat to put the ball in the basket.
‘Of course there will be big challenges, but at the moment we may not always be the case, but at the moment we can put a pretty versatile group on that floor and just have more option, depending on who we play like. we are moving forward in this year, and also next year, we thought it was really a good thing for our team. ”
Parker averaged 14.8 points and 5.7 rebounds in 288 career games. He played just three games with the Kings this season, averaging 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in nine minutes per game.
“Hopefully this is a place where he can find his groove,” Stevens said. “It’s important, and we’re going to work hard to help him.”
Parker will be available for the Celtics on Saturday when they host the Warriors, with a hint for 20:30 ET.
