Brackets: Michigan looks entrenched as a number 1 seed on its way to the Big Ten Tournament

Welcome to Champion Week! This is the last chance for teams to play after the NCAA Tournament. Some teams really need this chance.

Neither of the two is at the top of the bracket, where Gonzaga, Baylor, Michigan and Illinois live. Those four look pretty solid despite the fact that Wolverines lost Sunday in the state of Michigan.

The fourth place is the Illinis to lose. This could happen in the Big Ten tournament, where two other contestants will also play for the venue. Ohio State of Iowa, as the champion of the Big Ten tournament, will make strong claims to the fourth No. 1 series.

You do not have to wait until the field of 68 is announced to fill in your brackets. Play Conference Bracket Challenge hosted by Hertz and select the tournaments for a cash prize of $ 10,000 or start a pool and compete against friends. No purchase required, see Rules for details.

Alabama is also still in the game, but will not only have to win the SEC, but Michigan or someone further down the line will win the Big Ten title.

Nor can you rule out a strong Big 12 team if he can oust Baylor and win the conference tournament.

The bottom of the bracket also became more interesting on Sunday.

Loyola Chicago beat Drake for the Missouri Valley title, securing the Ramblers a spot on the field and letting the Bulldogs sweat it out for a week.

The Mountain West tournament is also quite bubbly, and the Atlantic 10 final on Sunday could be for one place in the tournament.

Maryland is one team that drops the bracket that we do not have to worry about later. The Terrapins reached a five-game winning streak over teams near the bottom of the league at the end of February to a 14-10 record. They looked comfortable in the field, especially with games in the Northwest and at home in Penn State. Maryland, however, dropped both of them and hit a lead over the Nittany Lions late on Sunday. Now they sit 14-12 with a conference tournament against the Spartans. An overall record of 14-13 could be difficult for the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee, even in a pandemic season.

I scrubbed some seed overnight, so some seeds changed for teams that didn’t play.
