Bracketology Bubble Watch: Maryland faces Minnesota as teams battle for NCAA Tournament

This weekend started as productive for a few teams during the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Especially in the SEC where Arkansas had its best win so far this season with an overtime win at no. 10 Missouri, and LSU the no. 16 Tennessee, 78-65, put down at home for its best win of the season.

The Razorbacks and Tigers have each scored their only win over NCAA Tournament teams, and that’s especially good for LSU, who started the day among my last four teams.

UConn also scored a big victory with Xavier, 80-72, in the Musketeers return of a COVID-19 break.

Two other teams in my last four had chances of big wins on Saturday, but both fell short. North Carolina lost a 12-point loss at no. 9 Virginia, the leader of the ACC. The tar heels have dropped to 12-7 this season and still do not have a win over a team in the current series. Indiana was dominated from the start in a 78-59 loss to Ohio State no. 4. The Hoosiers dropped to 11-9 and 2-8 against Quadrant 1 opponents. Fortunately for them, the Big Ten offers many opportunities for quality victories.

Sunday presents some double bubble games, plus the first team to be out of the series is in action. All times Oriental
