According to police, child was found safe after Amber Alert in Minneapolis
Police say they have located a missing child in Minneapolis after a vehicle theft on Saturday.
At 2:40 p.m., police said the child and vehicle were found in Brooklyn Center. The Minnesota BCA said the boy was safe while canceling the Amber Alert.
Police are concerned that the thief may have left the vehicle after realizing the child was inside and put the child in extreme danger due to the low temperature.
‘It can be selected and hidden. The child can be in the car and we are in a low temperature, ‘said John Elder, police spokesman.
Finally, the police say that is exactly what happened. The vehicle was found abandoned behind a church on Brooklyn Boulevard in Brooklyn Center. Fortunately, the vehicle left and the child safe.
“He smiled when the officer came to fetch him,” said police spokesman John Elder. “He seems to be a very good-natured child.”
Missing boy found safe on Saturday after Amber Alert in Minneapolis
Police say a missing boy was found safe on Saturday afternoon after an extensive search for an Amber Alert issued after the boy was taken in a stolen vehicle.
One of the people who helped make the search safe was Barbara Guisse who lives near the church and noticed the vehicle.
“I went out to see my birds and I saw that white car sitting in the parking lot of the church here and I thought it was running and I could not see anyone in it,” Guisse explained.
Guisse says the vehicle was still sitting there unattended when she received the Amber Alert on her phone.
“I was a mess because I knew there was a kid who was amber, and there was no kid. It’s a kid,” she said.
Thanks to her swift action, police arrived at Brooklyn Center in a hurry. Nearly two and a half hours after the ordeal began, the boy was found safe and hot in the stolen car.
‘I’m just glad, because when it’s so cold, I’m just glad the car ran, because that’s what kept me curious.
Police say the search for the suspect continues and they are reviewing the surveys in the area. The man will face charges of kidnapping and car theft when arrested.
