Boulder shooting suspect executed on another 43 charges in King Soopers rampage

Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty filed another 43 charges against Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa on Wednesday, nearly a month after the 21-year-old allegedly shot at a King Soopers supermarket in which ten people were killed.

Alissa has already been charged with ten counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder in the attack.

He now faces 33 additional charges of attempted murder in the first degree, one charge of assault on the first degree and ten charges of criminal possession of a large-capacity banned magazine, according to an amended charge filed by prosecutors Wednesday. submitted.

Alissa is accused of firing a Ruger AR-556 pistol into the supermarket on the afternoon of March 22, which looks similar to an AR-15 rifle.

Officer Eric Talley led a team of police into the store just two minutes after the shooting began, and a shootout with Alissa.

Talley was hit in the head and died. Nine other people were also killed during the shooting: Denny Stong (20); Neven Stanisic, 23; Rikki Olds, 25; Tralona Bartkowiak, 49; Suzanne Fountain, 59; Teri Leiker (51); Kevin Mahoney (61); Lynn Murray (62); and Jodi Waters, 65.

Alissa’s attorney, public defender Kathryn Herold, appeared in court for the first time on March 25 on the accused mass shooter that her client needed a review of mental health.

“Our position is that there is nothing we can do before we can fully assess Mr Alissa’s mental illness,” Herold told the court.
