Boulder launches ‘Be Safe, Boulder’ campaign

Boulder on Friday launched a new campaign called Be Safe, Boulder that encourages people to continue to stay safe while the coronavirus pandemic continues.

The campaign features messages from a number of current and former Boulderites, including documentary filmmaker Jeff Orlowski, Olympic cyclist Mara Abbott and government Jared Polis.

According to a city news release, the campaign was launched almost exactly a year after the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a global health emergency.

“My heart goes out to all the families who have been torn by this deadly virus,” Polis said in the video.

Interim city manager Chris Meschuk said in the release that he was hopeful that the messages would inspire people to follow safety protocols and guidelines for public health until enough of the population is vaccinated.

“It’s so hard for all of us right now, but we can get through it together,” Orlowski says in the video.
