Boston Celtics bronze medalist Marcus Smart is likely to continue his left-handed calf strategy during the All-Star break from March 5-10, hoping to return to the series for the start of the second half of the season. sources told ESPN.
Smart, who fully recovered from the injury on January 30, traveled with the Celtics to New Orleans again on Sunday and took part in light activities on the track, coach Brad Stevens said before his team’s game against the Pelicans.
The Celtics have been 5-6 without Smart in the series since his injury, and he is expected to miss seven more games at the end of the first half of the season on March 4.
Smart experienced his best NBA season, including his career high in points (13.1), assists (6.1) and steals (1.8). He is also the leader of the Celtics in defensive categories that include departures and looseball recovers.
