Border Patrol whistleblower emails details of inhuman conditions at Texas processing center, reports Sara Carter

Fox Car co-worker and investigative reporter Sara Carter received an email from a border pattern bell ringer outlining the conditions at the Donna Migration Processing Facility, Texas.

In an exclusive “Hannity” Tuesday, Carter explained that border officials are getting frustrated with dangerous conditions and negligence in processing centers, and that Washington authorities are eager to intervene.

The email sent from a border patrol officer to the Command Chain at Customs and Border Protection (CBP) appeared to be a plea for help, declaring that the conditions were “extremely unsafe and unhealthy for the detainees, agents and civilian workers. “

“The overcrowding is inhuman, especially for the children,” the agent continued. “Pod 3A is designed to accommodate 80 people, and on this day we have 694 unaccompanied children with two supervising agents. That’s 867% of the stated capacity of this detention space. Strangers in our custody, and we can not either do not reasonably do for ourselves. ‘

The agent further explained that the detainees become stressed and tired – many are detained for more than two weeks. The email reads that detainees are lying on top of each other because there is no sleeping space, while “unaccompanied children have to sleep on their side to save space.”

“If there is a fire, carbon monoxide leaking from the generators, a storm or any possible and probable incident, many people will die,” it reads. “This situation is a disaster waiting to happen. Someone with the right authority must immediately do something to alleviate the severe overcrowding before we experience a tragedy.”

Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott responded to the email, saying he heard the warning “loud and clear”. In a statement Tuesday, CBP reaffirmed the validity of these emails and promised to “protect the country and enforce laws humanely”.

According to Carter, the facility looks like a prison without windows. The migratory upswing has already increased Donna’s population by 25%, and the border patrol expects thousands of additions to arrive.

But the biggest concern among employees and observers is about the health of migrant children, Carter said. They often traveled alone and were now cramped with hundreds of others in tents.

“They are standing right next to each other,” she said. “The smells, there is no air, there are really no windows to look outside. It is a very, very stressful situation.”
