Boomer Esiason Download Steve Cohen on GameStop Madness

The outage of the GameStop stock debacle allows Boomer Esiason to stop going to games.

The WFAN host went after Mets owner Steve Cohen on Friday morning for his alleged involvement in and reaction to the GameStop stock wind, saying he will no longer go to Mets games until I find out exactly what’s going on here.

Steve Cohen also sent [a tweet] said (Thursday) that I, with regard to David Portnoy, do not like: ‘I’m just trying to make a living, just like you,’ ‘Esiason said. ‘Hey, I do not want to hear it from you, do you know what I mean? Your hedge fund billionaire. Just keep your mouth shut.

‘The other thing is, he put out another one too:’ Hey stock joggers, keep bringing this. That’s why he’s discounting the people of Reddit WallStreetBets as ‘stock jockeys’ and shooting them up like he knows what’s going on, because he’s sitting in this hedge fund king chair and making all these decisions. I hate it. That’s why I told you this morning when I came in, I said, ‘You know what? I swear God, I’m not going to go to another Met game until I find out exactly what’s going on here. “It actually makes my stomach. ”

According to Cohen’s Point72 Asset Management and its co-hedge fund Citadel, they invested a total of $ 2.75 billion in Melvin Capital Management, which was crushed after an attempt to squeeze the GameStop shares short.

“Rough crowd on Twitter tonight,” Cohen, whose net worth is estimated at $ 14.6 billion, tweeted Wednesday night. “Hey stock jockeys bring it on.”

The saga took another turn on Thursday when the app Robinhood traded in stocks like GameStop restricted. This led to Barstool Sports’ David Portnoy accusing Cohen of disclosing the restrictions, which Cohen “unequivocally” denied.

Amid the back-and-forth on Twitter, Cohen replied to Portnoy, “I’m just trying to make a living like you.”

But Cohen’s tweets about the GameStop saga did not favor Esiason.

“I do not need to hear the nonsense,” said the former Jets quarterback and Mets fan. “That’s why, if you own a baseball team and want to start tweeting as if you’re the big fan you are, then you start putting yourself in these situations, it just does not feel right.”
