Users on Twitter was quick to point out the gun law’s advocate on the many changes that have been ratified to the Constitution since it became the country’s official legal framework in 1788.
According to the Philadelphia Nonprofit National Constitutional Center, the constitution as first drafted in 1787 did not include the first ten amendments, also known as the Bill of Rights.
In the more than 200 years since this first set of rights was adopted through an agreement with several states, more than a dozen constitutional amendments have been added that point many Americans to the most important moments in American history, including the abolition of slavery. , which guarantees women. the right to vote and the determination of the legal voting age at 18 years of age.

Lauren Boebert is a member of Congress and does not understand that we have literally rewritten / revised the Constitution 27 times to do things like abolish slavery, and, you know, extend and elective suffrage to set for women … like Lauren Boebert. https://t.co/PuxrFJuJuG

The Hill reached out to Boebert’s office for comment.
Boebert went viral last month for an ad she issued in which she walked around the Capitol grounds and said she would carry her firearm in DC and in Congress.
Among existing Capitol Police Regulations, members of Congress were exempted from the total ban on firearms throughout the Capitol complex, although guns in the House and Senate chambers were completely banned.
Boebert Thursday said about Zoom during a Virtual House Natural Resources Committee hearing that the carrying of guns “is a summary right that American citizens have”, against an amendment aimed at stripping a provision banning firearms in the hearing room.
The GOP congressman, who expressed support for the far-right QAnon conspiracy theory, also drew sharp criticism after tweeting details about legislators’ location during the January 6 Capitol invasion.
In a letter to the leadership of Congress shortly after the riot, 68 officials in Colorado called for an investigation into Boebert’s actions before and during the siege.
The first-term legislature already has a 2022 challenger for its seat in the state of Colorado, Rep. Donald Valdez (D), who announced his race Thursdayand called Boebert a ‘threat to democracy’ and blamed her for helping incite the deadly Capitol uprising.
