Boebert clashes with Capitol police after setting up metal detectors

She added that she may carry her weapons in Washington, DC and the Capitol Complex.

A memo from Acting House Sergeant at Arms Timothy Blodgett explaining the new security measure also reminded members that they may only have guns in their personal offices.

Several Republican members have expressed their frustration over the new security arrangement. Rep. Steve Stivers of Ohio told Capitol police he believes the metal detectors are unconstitutional. Others tried to get around them.

On January 6, Boebert encountered calls for resignation or expulsion over her tweets that found her and the movements of House President Nancy Pelosi, while Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building violently.

“I’m here to work for the American people, so I do not think so,” Boebert said.

Asked if she regretted her tweets, Boebert remained silent and went to the living rooms and her run-in with the Capitol police over the metal detectors.
