Bodycam footage shows the second arrest of the maskless woman, this time in the Texas City store

HOUSTON On Friday, Texas City Police released the body videos of two officers involved in the arrest of a maskless woman.

Terry Wright is accused of refusing to wear a mask at a Texas City store. A few days earlier, she was charged with resisting arrest and committing a criminal offense for the same act in a Galveston bank. This incident occurred one day after Texas lifted the mandate for the entire mask.

On Wednesday, just after 9 a.m., Texas City police said they were responding to an Office Depot at Emmett F Lowry Expy, 9550, where a woman in the store refused to wear a mask or shop leaves.

According to the images from the cameras, the first officer arrived at the store and was met by an employee. As the officer approached, the woman shouted information from her phone and stood in front of a pay counter in front of the store.

The officer told the woman, “If you refuse to leave, you will go to jail for trespassing.”

“You can not. You want to read it, ‘Wright replied as he ordered the officer to look at her phone. “These are my federal rights.”

Wright refused to leave the store, and the officer handcuffed her as she resisted and told the officer she was violating her rights. By this time, another officer had arrived on the scene and was helping Wright handcuff and escort outside the store.

In the other camera-camera video, the second officer walked into the store and approached Wright, who was detained by another officer.

“This is a major offense,” Wright said repeatedly as she was handcuffed by officers.

“I’m trying to teach you people about my rights,” she later said as she left the store.

When the two officers escorted her outside the store, they discovered that Wright was also involved in the Bank of America incident in Galveston last week. They contacted police in Galveston and confirmed Wright had two warrants for her arrest related to the incident in Galveston.

According to the release, no additional charges have been filed in connection with the Office Depot incident.

According to the videos, there were at least three officers at the scene.
