Bobby Lashley on what Vince McMahon said to RAW

Bobby Lashley achieved the greatest achievement of his career by winning the WWE Championship during this week’s main event RAW. Lashley released a statement on social media about his title win, and he talked more about what winning the WWE Championship means to him in a recent interview with Ryan Stain for FOX Sports.

“The one thing that’s more important to me than anything, it’s more than money, it’s the legacy,” Lashley said. ‘I could write my name in the history of professional wrestling that only a few people can say they actually have. If I then look at the gender of people who hold the title, to put my name among the guys … I can not even articulate what it means to me.

‘It’s great because because they’re the WWE champion, they expect a lot from you. You have to wear the show. You have a lot of things to go through. You have to dress up some of the best matches. You have to do the things that a lot of the other guys do not.

“Before I came back for the last time, I told them, ‘I want it all. Because that’s what I came back for. I’m coming back for that WWE championship and not stopping until I get it. If I get it then I’m ready to build a legacy. ‘I wish Bobby Lashley’s time,’ The Almighty ‘, Lashley’s time, with that title would mean something, and mean something great. This is what I want to make happen. ”

Lashley then recalls Booker T’s faith in him. He also remembers the things he learned through Vince McMahon, and he reveals what McMahon said to him after winning the WWE title.

Booker came and said it was once on one of the pre-shows: ‘Man, you have to be main event. I do not know what you are doing now, but I do not know why they do not have Bobby’s main event in WrestleMania. “Booker said that,” Lashley recalled. “For me, it means the world, because I have so much respect for Booker. I have so much respect for a lot of the guys I came up with and worked with for the first time, like JBL and Booker, some of the guys, so I heard a good word from some of the guys and the words really echoes in me and makes me realize to stop just having fun.

‘You’re not here to have fun. Vince does not want you to have fun here. Vince wants to argue with you because you’re fighting for something you want. Vince wants you to step out of the box and do something bigger. Vince wants you to want WrestleMania so much so that the crowd forces them to give you that title. And I think I started getting to that point last year, definitely a few months. I was bad, man. I was mean. I go there with revenge and a lot of confidence runs through me.

‘When I could go through the curtain [after winning the WWE Championship] and give Vince a hug, he grabs me and he holds me for a while and is like, ‘Man, I’m proud of you. ‘
