Blue Origin announces date for its NS-15 lifting, rehearsal for human flights

Blue Origin, the Jeff Bezos-led aerospace venture, announced on Wednesday that it was targeting the launch of its NS-15 rehearsal mission, which is seen as an important step in the enterprise’s effort to send people into space.

The company said in a tweet Monday that the launch from the Launch Site one in West Texas will take place any time after 8 p.m. A mannequin will be launched, but the “primary operations will mean that Blue Origin personnel will have to act as astronauts carrying the capsule before launch,” reads a statement.

The staff will go through the same movements that an astronaut may undergo before starting. They will sit in the seats, fasten the harness and make sure the communication system works, the company said.

“The tower industry team will prepare the capsule cabin for launch and then close the capsule hatch briefly. The astronauts will then leave the capsule before launching,” the statement read.
