Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night hides a secret, extraordinarily difficult 1986 mode

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night received an update last month with the addition of a classic mode, but IGN can reveal that the update also added a second, hidden mode – 1986 mode is an extra difficult version of Classic Mode, and it is unlocked By going to the classic mode title screen and entering the Konami code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, [Horizontal Left Face Button]), [Horizontal Right Face Button]), the “1986 mode” will appear at the bottom of the screen.

You can see the full details below, but briefly it serves as a modified version of Classic Mode, which changes the color of Miriam’s outfit, making the game much more difficult. You can watch a video on unlocking the mode below:1986 Mode has been undiscovered since the Classic Mode update, and aims to add an even more old-school platform feel to the already old-school mode.

The name of the mode is a reference to the year the original Castlevania game was released, and many of the changes it adds reflect the 1986 version of Castlevania. These changes include:

  • No backflip
  • No step back
  • No slide
  • Air control is reduced
  • Can not jump stairs
  • Can not jump stairs
  • Extended whip is not available
  • Can’t stand or squat mid-whip animation

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a spiritual sequel to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night – we gave an 8.8 review and said, “The wait was worth it. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a whole new castle to shower full of unexpected monsters and riddles in the style of the classic Castlevania. ‘

Classic Mode was added last month, adding five levels inspired by action platforms from the 80s, like the original Castlevania games.
