Titan Comics has released a new trailer and preview page for Blade Runner: Origins # 1 that sets out the events of the original Blade Runner movie.

The series takes place in the year 2009, a full decade before the events of the original Blade Runner movie. LAPD detective Cal Moreaux has been assigned to the apparent suicide of one of the Tyrell Corporation’s leading scientists. While doing his research, Moreaux finds several documents that point to the construction of a new kind of replicant – and a dark secret in Tyrell’s heart. Mike Johnson, who wrote Blade Runner 2019 and his ongoing sequel Blade Runner 2029, is joined by K. Perkins (Super girl) and Mellow Brown as co-authors for Blade Runner: Origins. Fernando Dagnino (Suicide Squad) will provide art for the series.
The preview pages for Blade Runner: Origins # 1 contains Moreaux and his fellow officers encountering two replicants, leading to a bloody outcome. Another page contains a look at Los Angeles 2009; although the structure has a futuristic bend, it is far from the tall skyscrapers and flying cars associated with the Blade Runner universe.
