Black Ops Cold War Warrior claims 8 more card memories

To celebrate 115 days, Treyarch has shared a new blog post that addresses what’s about Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War coming soon.

The new Zombies card, Firebase Z, arrives free on February 4th.

In their blog post, Treyarch delves deep into the narrative origins of Firebase Z map, reveals the new Tombstone Perk, offers updates on Onslaught mode, and more.

Firebase Z ” will arrive on February 4 during the first season, free for all Black Ops Cold War players.

Today we are excited to debut the official logo and new story details for our next Zombies card.

In less than three weeks, “Firebase Z” will introduce Zombies fans to a brand new place in the jungles of Vietnam, along with new characters, new enemies, new game mechanics and more. And, in keeping with the Zombies tradition, a bad new Wonder Weapon awaits.

Now – without spoiling also much – let’s discuss the story so far.

REQUIRED US. OMEGA

Dimensional transgressions remain open around the world. While both Omega and Requiem work in the shadows to secure the secret of their discoveries, the general public remains blissfully unaware of this deadly new arms race between East and West.

As the two sides continue to study the Dark Aether dimension and the Aetherium crystals found in it, each strives for an advantage over the other in the ongoing Cold War. The bad news? Requiem fell behind.

The latest research post from Omega Group represents their resounding successes in using Dark Aether technology for their own gain. Equipped with a dimensional gate, they acquired the ability to send soldiers and other “conscripts” to the Dark Aether to harvest Aetherium crystals directly from the source.

As a result, Omega Group’s scientific breakthroughs over the past few months have surpassed anything Requiem could have imagined.

DESTINATION: OUTPOST 25

With the destruction of the “Project Endstation” anomaly website in their wake, Grigori Weaver and the agents of Requiem draw their attention to a much bigger threat: a new Dark Aether outbreak in Southeast Asia.

After the agent of Agent Maxis is captured by Omega Group, Weaver places the strike team of Requiem to infiltrate the facility where she is allegedly being held: Buitepos 25.

In all likelihood, Requiem forces will infiltrate the outpost to meet with an informant from the Omega group, besides Samantha Maxis, and above all the new horrors that await them in this abandoned research facility.

In the coming weeks we will be sharing more information about the “Firebase Z” story, new information, and the official games trailer to share in the run-up to the launch. In the meantime, let’s think about the additional content coming to Zombies as season one continues.

NEW LIMIT: TOMBSTONE SODA (4 FEB)

As we may have not so subtly alluded to on New Year’s Eve, we bring a seventh Limit Black Ops Cold War Zombies along with the launch of ‘Firebase Z’: Tombstone Soda.

“But Treyarch,” you ask, “what’s new about Tombstone?” Thanks for the question. Good question.

When deciding on the next Perk to represent Zombies, the design team reviewed the full history of each Perk and the abilities of the past centered around death and eventually rolled into an incredibly useful Perk for Black Ops Cold War. Tombstone Soda is about manipulating and deceiving the consequences of death, and you will need it against the forces that await you in Vietnam.

Unlike his first incarnation in Black Ops II, the new and improved Tombstone Soda, will now turn the player into a shadow in the Dark Aether. In this shadow form you will be equipped with weapons to give you a chance to revive yourself. However, if your health is reduced to zero in a shadow, you are dead.

Fortunately, the benefits of Tombstone are only getting better from there. Each Limit has its own set of upgradeable skills Black Ops Cold War, and it is no different. By investing Aetherium Crystals in your Tombstone Perk skill, you will unlock the following upgrades:

  • Level I – Shadow can restore health.
  • Level II – Increase the downward duration to 60 seconds.
  • Level III Destroy a tombstone that saves your weapons, equipment and resources.

You can grab a can of the Tombstone Perk machine in ‘Firebase Z’, and you’ll also find it in the Der Wunderfizz machine in ‘Die Maschine’ on February 4th. Just remember the timeless lyrics if in doubt: Rest in pieces, down for the score …

NEW SUPPORT STATEMENTS AND INTEL (4 FEB)

On February 4, there will also be two new Support Scorestreaks calling in against the dead: the devastating Artillery and always satisfactory Napalm strike. If the action gets a little too hot, go to the Crafting Table and turn the heat even higher.

Ahh, we like the smell of crispy zombies in the morning.

And of course, a new Zombies card means new in the game Intel. Keep track of new audio logs, documents, radio communications, Dark Aether transmissions and artifacts hidden throughout Firebase Z from February 4th. You never know what you might find.

Friendly Reminder: If you have not yet discovered 100% of the Intel game hidden in “The Machine” and Onslaught, now is the time to complete your collection before the story continues!
