Black Ops Cold War on February 27 notes: stability and UI fixes

In addition to adding new maps and content to Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch also changed some of the existing maps (namely Cartel) in the second season.

The subtle change of an original card can change it from one of the older cards of the game to completely fresh and revived. Treyarch has already announced that the much-maligned Miami card would get a more pleasing version of itself later in Season 2.

In the meantime, as well as the new Apocalypse map, we also get a more updated version of one of the game’s founding maps – Cartel.

While maps like Moscow and Crossroads flourished and became popular favorite fans in the Black Ops Cold War, Cartel had a more muted reception.

This is not a bad map, but already during the Beta testing it got negative reception due to the large bushes obscuring important parts of the map.

This striking fence was eventually recognized by Treyarch, who finally heard the crowd of the Black Ops Cold War and cut it down properly.

The official Treyarch blog has posted photos showing the pre- and post-release version:

“At Kartel, we introduced the attachment screens and made several advanced cover adjustments throughout the map, which reduced the bushes in certain places to make assignments more predictable.”

There is definitely a big improvement on the map as your line of sight is much clearer, and it enables you to see more clearly from one side of the map to the other.

While engagement used to have an element of unpredictability, it is now more complete, making the convenience of the card possible.

With all the changes Season 2 has made so far, such as new Operator bundles and the exciting new Outbreak mode, it’s good to see that Treyarch is also updating older content.
