Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 2 add new Zombies mode and maps

Activision and Treyarch have released a new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone Season Two and also shared more details on what we can expect from the update.
Season two begins on February 25, with a new Zombies expansion called Outbreak, four multiplayer maps, six new weapons, four new operators, multiplayer modes, new Warzone attractions and more.

Outbreak, Black Ops Cold War’s next Zombies mode is a whole new, large-scale Zombies experience unlike any other. ‘Outbreak continues the Dark Aether story and plays out on the biggest cards for multiplayer in the Cold War. Treyarch keeps a bit tight on the new mode, but says you will hunt down new enemies using satellite tracking, escort a rover that detects dimensional portals and fights it against zombies to get to the exfil site. Treyarch says he will share details on the new mode in the coming days.

As for maps, Apocalypse (6v6) is a small to medium sized map located in the Lao Jungle. Golova (Multi-Team) lets you light a fire in a sleepy Russian village in the Ural Plains. Mansion (2v2 and 3v3) is located in Havana at the Hefe Mansion and is a new map of Gunfight and Face-Off with expansive courtyards. And lastly, Miami Strike (6v6) is a smaller version of the original Miami map, but it is set during the day. Only Apocalypse is available at the launch of Season Two. The new season also adds new modes, such as Gun Game, Stockpile, and a group-based mode called Hardpoint, where groups have the task of capturing and holding hills that rotate every 120 seconds.

Six new wearable weapons will also be available for unlocking, including the FARA 83 assault rifle, LC10 automatic SMG, the R1 Shadowhunter, Machete, ZRG 20mm sniper rifle and the military triple E-Tool.

In Warzone, the new season offers a fresh outdoor pool, new weapons, operators, game modes and two new interests. In Exfiltration mode, players must detect portable radio in Verdansk and hold it for a set amount of time to win. The player holding the radio is marked on the card (similar to a Most Wanted Contract), along with a timer that shows all other players how long the radio holder has until they win. Rebirth Island also gets a new mode with Rebirth Island Resurgence Extreme, which increases the maximum number of players to 90, and just like Resurgence, players can react again if one of their allies is alive before the timer runs out.

For the new attractions, The Vodianoy truck, once located off the Rebirth Island map, mysteriously got lost at sea and is reportedly on its way to the port of Verdansk. Activision says: “Operators in the area are advised to be extremely careful as the ship is carrying unknown cargo, and no contact can be made with its crew.” It sounds as if something is also happening below the surface of Verdansk, as Activision teases that ‘something big is starting to sink deep underground’ and advises operators to explore these areas at their own risk.

Season two for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone arrives on February 25th.
