Billy Horschel’s Masters crash ‘may have crossed the line’

Billy Horschel knows he may have gone too far.

The American golfer apologized on Twitter after his crash during The Masters on Sunday went viral.

Horschel was seen on the Masters website’s cover hitting his golf clubs repeatedly in his suitcase after a disappointing hole Sunday.

“I am and always have been a fiery competitor. “Unfortunately, the fire inside me sometimes gets hot when I don’t get the best out of my game,” said Horschel, who shot a 4-over 76 on Sunday to score the 50th draw. ‘This leads to some cases where my behavior is not what I want to show, especially as a role model for the younger generation.

‘I apologize to Augusta National, club members and customers for any action that may have crossed the line. I always try to improve and do better; as a golfer, husband, father or as a human being. Thank you so much The Masters for an unforgettable week! ”

It is unclear on what hole Horschel melted down, but it was part of a notable weekend for the 34-year-old. In Saturday’s third round, Horschel slipped off the shore at 13 before miraculously hitting the par’s save by hitting the ball out of the creek in front of the green.

On Sunday, however, when he wanted to repeat the performance, he made a triple eight. Horschel, who won the WGC Match Play Championship two weeks ago, just finished his week on August 18 with a double bow.
