ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Buffalo Bills have been on the wings for nearly the entire season of the most fruitful offense in the franchise’s 61-year history, surpassing opposing opponents.
Saturday night in the AFC division game against Baltimore, while Josh Allen and the offense struggled most of the way to find any rhythm, the bills had to look to their defense and it came through with a performance for centuries.
The Bills defense completely knocked out the dangerous Lamar Jackson and knocked him out of the game late in the third quarter with a concussion and stole the show, bringing them a 17-3 victory that took them to the AFC Championship game. send next Sunday.

Now the Bills are waiting to see who they’ll play – either the Chiefs in Kansas City or, if you can believe it, the Browns here at Bills Stadium.
The signature was, of course, made by nickel diagonal Taron Johnson. The Ravens were 10-3 behind on their way to what looked like an equalizing drive in the third quarter when they came down on a third and goal kick from the 9th.
Jackson slumped back to pass, had time, but the zone defense of the Bill covered everything. Instead of starting and running what he is known for, he tried to push a pass into tight end Mark Andrews. Bad idea.
Johnson stepped forward to intercept it one meter deep in the end zone and then chased 101 meters down the other side while the crowd of 6,700 were bunkers.
It was undoubtedly the biggest play, but all night the defense got big until the end, even when rugby quarterback Tyler Huntley – who had just been called up from the training group – incompletely threw a fourth-and-goal pass. in the end zone with 2:40 left.
It was only the fourth game all year in which the Bills could not score 20 points, and it was only their second win in the four games, the other against the Jets.
It’s safe to assume no one saw this game coming, especially what we saw in the first half, a 3-3 draw where Jackson had more passing than Allen (123-120), but it was the situation.
Allen just never looked comfortable, and given offensive coordinator Brian Daboll mentioned 25 passes for just one run, it was not a good development for the Bill. They needed Allen to be sharp, and he was not.
He was 23 out of 37 with a touch and no interception. The bills rushed just 32 yards.
The windy night was undoubtedly a factor, just like for placekickers. Each team missed two field goals.
So the Bills are now playing their first trip to the Super Bowl since the 1993 season. That game was their fourth consecutive Super Bowl appearance – all defeats.
