Bill Maher sounds for Trumps CPAC speech

Bill Maher sounds for Trumps CPAC speech

February 26, 2021 21:25 by NewsDesk

“Real Time” presenter Bill Maher sounded the alarm ahead of former President Trump’s highly anticipated speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where he is expected to tease another presidential election in 2024.

At the end of this panel discussion on Friday night, Maher raised a topic he ‘did not want to talk about’, which was the 45th president. His scheduled CPAC speech Sunday in Orlando, Florida, is his first major public appearance since leaving office.

‘After he lost, people still came to me and [saying]”Are you going?” and I say, ‘He’s gone. Stop being obsessive. I do not want to talk about him! ” Begin Maher. ‘But I need to know what’s going to happen at CPAC this weekend. … The shark is not gone. We need a bigger boat. The shark has been to the sea for a while, he will come back and eat more people on the shore. ‘

Maher continues: ‘He is going to say on Sunday that he is the supposedly nominated candidate in 2024, no one is going to oppose him. There are nine panels at the CPAC meeting that deal with how the election was stolen. That’s where they are. If you think that 2024 is not going to be a nail-biter or that he is not going to be the nominee, I think you are naive. ‘

Maher’s guest, Senator Jon Tester, D-Mont., Agrees, declaring Trump the “absolute forerunner at the moment,” which could “be very good” the 2024 GOP nominee, citing minority leader Mitch McConnell , Senator Mitch McConnell, who declared that Trump would “absolutely” have his vote despite his fierce condemnation of the former president after the January 6 riot.

Co-panelist Ezra Klein of The New York Times insisted that the “problem” was not Trump, but rather the Republican Party “enabling” him, adding that they “did not have the courage” to address the former president to say he was “Bad for the party at this point.”

“The two wings of the party I can see are Trump and then the people who want to take his voters, who want to be his successor,” Maher replied. ‘There’s Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley and Nikki Haley. They want to be the next nominee, but are not going to get rid of his voters. They just want to be Trump’s successor. ”
