Bill Burr continues for Gina Carano after the dismissal of Mandalorian

Burr argues that “people who are just waiting and lying in the weeds” find a reason to cancel someone.

Bill Burr is the first actor from “The Mandalorian” to consider the dismissal of Gina Carano due to controversial posts on social media. During a recent episode of “The Bill Bert Podcast,” Burr showed support for his former Star Wars co-star and called her an absolute darling. Burr plays as Mayfeld in “The Mandalorian,” while Carano played Cara Dune. A Disney spokeswoman confirmed to IndieWire last month that Cara Dune would not be reshuffled.

“It’s a weird time … unless she’s really done a horrible shit or openly said racist shit,” Burr said of Carano. “I do not know. I think there are just too many channels. And then you have to do sensational shit … I do not know what it is. I’m in the fucking show. Now, I have to watch what the fuck I say.”

“She was an absolute lover. Super nice fucking person, “Burr later said about the actress. ‘And you know what, and somehow someone will take this video and they’ll make me say something else and try to get rid of my naked action … that’s how it is out there. These are fucking crazy times. People just wait and lie in the weeds. ”

Burr refers to how Hasbro canceled the Cara Dune action figure after Carano’s firing. Lucasfilm announced on February 10 that it was severing ties with Carano due to its history of controversial posts on social media, which culminated in an Instagram story post comparing the current US political climate to Nazi Germany. Lucasfilm announced Carano’s dismissal by calling her social media posts ‘disgusting and unacceptable’ about how they ‘degrade people on the basis of their cultural and religious identity’.

Later in the podcast, Burr expanded his view of the cancellation culture by saying, ‘Now it’s like,’ Hey, you made an ignorant comparison. (glowing sound) There goes your dream, right? I look at it and it’s like, ‘Who the fuck is up against that?’ ‘

Carano is now continuing to develop and star in a new feature film for the conservative website The Daily Wire. In her initial statement about her shooting, Carano said: ‘I send a direct message of hope to all who live in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have just started using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can not cancel us if we do not allow it. ‘
