Big Ten Releases Volleyball Schedule

The Nebraska volleyball schedule is set after the Big Ten announced the conference-wide schedule Tuesday night. The conference program is 11 weeks, with two matches per week against the same opponent. Regular season competition runs January 22 to April 3. The first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament begin April 8-10. NCAA Regionals are on April 15-17 with the NCAA Semifinals on April 22 and the NCAA Final on April 24.

Nebraska opens the season in Indiana on January 22 and 23. The Huskers then return home to tackle Northwest (January 29-30) and Maryland (February 5-6) before traveling to New Jersey on February 12 to take on Rutgers. and February 13th. The following week, the Huskers host Minnesota on Feb. 19 and 21 before heading to Wisconsin to tackle the Badgers on Feb. 26 and 27.

The Huskers begin March with an away series against Illinois (March 5-6). On March 13-14, Ohio State is NOW hosting. Next week, Nebraska will play Iowa in a two-game series where each team gets a home game. The game on March 17 will be in Iowa City, while the game will be on March 20 in Lincoln. Nebraska ends the month in Ann Arbor when it competes against Michigan on March 26 and 27. The Huskers end the regular season on April 1 and 2 at home against Penn State.

“We are so excited to finally know who, where and when of our 2021 spring schedule,” Head Coach John Cook said. “The Big Ten and coaches have worked hard to set up a fair and competitive schedule for everyone. If we play the same team against each other, it will really be the best in teams and coaches. Husker Nation will be encouraged to make the Big Ten watching volleyball.

“There’s no room for mistakes or to play into the season. This schedule is like riding a horse in the Kentucky Derby. Get out of the gate and keep going for a wild ride.”
