Biden’s ‘Destructive’ Climate Policy for US Economy: West Virginia AG

Western Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said on Wednesday in America’s Newsroom that President Biden’s climate policy is “devastating” to the U.S. economy.

On Biden’s first day in office, he signed several executive actions into the law, including an order to rejoin the Paris climate agreement and halt construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. The move affected about 11,000 U.S. jobs, eliminating jobs for many employees.

Morrisey has argued that Biden is taking a “devastating ball” after many countries’ oil, gas and coal manufacturing work, as his government has reversed many of Trump’s industry-friendly policies.

PATRICK MORRISEY: “In the first week of a government in Biden … the president is really taking a devastating ball to many of the states that have oil, gas and coal manufacturing jobs. It’s going to have a real detrimental effect, especially if the US economy comes out of COVID-19, a pandemic.

To reinforce this further, look when President Obama was involved in many of the legal challenges associated with his job creation efforts. Praying goes much further. It’s a very aggressive agenda, this Green New Deal and it’s much more radical than we’ve even seen under President Obama. I think he is kicking the American people when they are economically down, and that is not a message of unity he was talking about.

We’re going to defend America. That’s what Republican Attorneys General is doing … and we’re going to make sure we’ll be the last line of defense against some of these policies. I do think Americans should focus on the difference between the rhetoric, the proclamation of unity and how radical this policy is. If you go much further than Barack Obama, you are not talking about a moderate president.
