Biden rejects common sense center over everything from schools to borders

It is truly astonishing how much President Biden in his early weeks chose to side his party’s left wing and its special interests – and against the wishes of even moderate Americans.

This is most evident in his Mexican border madness: President Donald Trump has worked out perfectly reasonable, human policies that halted the record-breaking, Obama-era boom of migrants at the border. Yet Biden pulled unnecessarily to kill Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ agreement and other agreements with Central American nations that clearly worked. Instead, he instituted a temporary freeze on deportations and estimated plans to provide millions of illegal immigrants with a path to citizenship.

It has encouraged all migrants in Central American countries to rush to the U.S. border: the number of children exceeding this year is already breaking the all-time record of 45 percent. And he had to go to the infamous ‘cages’ to keep children crossing without their families, and it was only going to get worse as summer hit.

Meanwhile, his end to deportations also leads back to ‘capture and release’ – which poses a health hazard: more than a hundred illegal border crossings released last week tested positive for the coronavirus but were still popping up. And that’s just one of the ways in which this policy hinders border towns.

None of this is common sense: 55 percent of Americans disapprove of Biden’s actions on deportations, and only the far left are happy that border crossing is resumed.

And even while embracing open borders, he passively allows schools. Having given up his promises to open the most in his first hundred days, he now pretends that this cannot be done without major new federal expenditures contained in his ‘relief’ bill – even though the schools of the country still has billions of emergency relief measures last year and its proposed expenditures are mainly for years into the future.

Science clearly shows that reopening poses no real health risk to students or adults, but the president refuses to say a word of criticism about the teachers’ unions (and the politicians who control them), which is undoubtedly the real obstacle to reopening . That’s why U.S. parochial and private schools, and public schools in areas with low union power, opened weeks ago.

He is also extremely green about energy policy. While most Americans support moderate efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, it does not cover its billion-dollar plans to carbon-fuel the entire country. With one action alone, which killed the Keystone XL pipeline, he killed thousands of good American jobs and slapped America’s good friend, Canada – while in fact impair the environment, as Canadians will simply send their oil by rail and truck (which means more pollution and greater risk of spills) to consumers who will still burn it, probably in dirtier plants than those here.

Then there is his culture war nonsense, such as his order that biological men be allowed to participate in sports with girls – another policy that a majority of Americans do not approve of, according to a Harvard University and Harris Insights and Analytics poll.

He is so reluctant to defy the hard left that he, along with the nutty attempt to dr. Seuss, Theodor Seuss Geisel, to cancel. No matter that the day comes on March 2, because it’s Seuss ‘birthday, nor that then – President Barack Obama and his wife recently emphasized Seuss’ work on interns and children in 2015. “Almost everything you need to know is in Dr. Seuss,” Obama said. Heck, now Vice President Kamala Harris, tweeted Seuss a happy birthday wish in 2017.

But the grim left wants Seuss’ scalp, and Biden must cancel a writer who shows millions of people that reading is fun.

Whether he fears the power of the left, or has no idea how extreme his government is, the president rejects the sensible center across the board. He is not only foolish, but is doing exactly the opposite of his inaugural address to unite the nation.
