President Biden attended the mass the first Sunday after entering the White House – and then returned with a popular DC bagel joint.
The country’s second Catholic president went to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC, the same president John F. Kennedy, the country’s first Catholic commander who traveled regularly.
Biden, 78, was accompanied by his son, Hunter, and Hunter’s two children, Finnegan and Maisey.
Asked about the service, Biden said it was ‘lovely’.
On the way back to the White House, the presidential carriage pulls down and Hunter Biden jumps out to quickly get to Call Your Mother, a popular deli near the church, known for their bagels.
Hunter stood at the take-off window for a few minutes while the president and his granddaughters stayed in the limo.
On the morning of his inauguration, Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband attended the Mass in Biden. Matthew the Apostle with a contingent of Democratic and Republican congressional leaders.
