Biden compiles an overview of Trump’s expulsions of military veterans and their families

President Joe Biden’s huge task of undoing Donald Trump’s tough immigration policy, according to McClatchy, will continue with the review of deportations of veterans and military family members that has taken place over the past four years. White House press secretary Vedant Patel said in a statement to the news agency: “The administration’s immigration enforcement will focus on those who are threats to national security and public safety, not military families, servicemen or veterans … The federal government in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security will further investigate the further removal of veterans and their relatives. ”A 2019 report from the Government Accountability Office found that as many as 250 veterans were in deportation proceedings, but there is no public record of exactly how many veterinarians or dependents were removed by the Trump administration.According to McClatchy, immigrant soldiers or veterinarians were denied their naturalization applications at a higher rate than non-military citizens during the Trump years.
