Biden administrator sets up tent city in Texas to deal with the influx of illegal immigrants

Biden’s administration announced this week that it is opening a soft line for immigrants in Donna, Texas, as Republican lawmakers warn of a ‘rising crisis’ on the U.S.-Mexico border.

In a statement to Fox News, a spokesman for the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol said the agency’s Centralized Processing Center in McAllen, Texas, was being renovated, necessitating additional facilities.

The primary purpose of the Donna location is to process individuals in the U.S. Border Patrol Detention Center.

“The Donna location was chosen because it is central to the border patrol stations in the Rio Grande Valley sector,” said a spokesman for the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.

COMMANDED ADMINISTRATION REOPENING OF TEXAS WHO HOLDS FACILITY FOR MIGRANT CHILDREN

As previously reported by Fox News, the Department of Health and Human Services also plans to reactivate a temporary influx care facility in Carrizo Springs, Texas, for the possible care of unaccompanied foreign children detained at the country’s southwestern border.

The facility will initially be able to accommodate about 700 migrating children, but if necessary, capacity can be added. The government expects to house unaccompanied foreign children who have been cleared of the COVID-19 quarantine within a little over a week. It will not accommodate children under the age of 13.

The centers are starting to open as fear climbs to the border amid hopes of easing restrictions under the current government, as previously reported by Fox News.

The Department of Homeland Security noted that since April, there has been a gradual increase in border crossings, caused by conditions caused by the pandemic and natural disasters.

House Republicans wrote a letter to Biden this week warning of a “rising illegal immigration crisis” on the southern border. According to lawmakers, CBP officials saw the average daily flow rise to 3,500 from 2,000 earlier last month.

By law, the government must take care of unaccompanied foreign children who have no immigration status in the US and no legal guardian in the US, and who are not yet 18 years old.
