WrestleMania 37 takes place on April 10 and 11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, a two-night spectacle that will give us two separate main lines for each of the two nights. It’s at least possible that Sasha Banks, the SmackDown women’s champion, could be, and if that’s the case, Bianca Belair wants to make history.
Because, as she told Sporting News, it would be historic in several ways:
‘Everything I approach in WWE, I do it in search of a purpose. When I think of a dream match, Sasha Banks will definitely be at the top of my list. And to think of WrestleMania’s headline with Sasha Banks would be more than just a match. It’s more than having a great game with the effort to break down the house. No, this is representation at the highest level that will appear in the history books for various reasons. It gives me goosebumps. It would become a dream not only for me, but also for many people. It would be a very special evening, and I can not even explain what it would mean to me. … I just want it to happen. It’s not just about feeding my ego. It would be part of Black history. ”
This would be the first time women would make a headline WrestleMania as well as the first time two black women would get the headline. This level of representation has never been seen before in WWE.
Belair, which has an episode of WWE Chronicle about its premiere on WWE Network today, is a favorite to win the Royal Rumble one week from today. Banks is the current SmackDown women’s champion.
You never know.
