Bexar County Homeowners Affected by Winter Storm Can Now Apply for Federal Disaster Relief

Homeowners and residents of Bexar County in 77 other designated provinces affected by the devastating winter storm this week can now apply to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for federal assistance.

This comes after President Joe Biden partially approved Governor Abbott’s request for a major disaster. The approval was announced Saturday afternoon.

According to officials, you should also file a claim as soon as possible if you have insurance and apply for disaster relief.

By law, FEMA cannot duplicate benefits for losses covered by insurance. If the insurance does not cover all your damages, you may be eligible to receive federal assistance.
