Bengal submits offer to Kenny Golladay

The Kenny Golladay news cycle continues to evolve. Shortly after the Giants visit to the former Lions receiver, Dianna Russini of ESPN.com reports that the Bengals have made an offer to Golladay (Twitter link).

Other teams are also on Golladay, according to Russini, but he plans to visit New York to meet with Giants buyers. The Bengals just saw AJ Green lack of the Cardinals, but the team is also pretty well positioned on the receiver.

The Bengals’ offer apparently did not move the needle for Golladay. Cincinnati has proposed what characterizes Albert Breer of SI.com as a one-year ‘proof’ contract.Twitter link). While Golladay may return to the Bengal circle, he will continue his free agency process.

Cincinnati got a good look at Tee Higgins‘potential last season, and Tyler Boyd was long-term signed. Green played on a $ 18 million franchise last season and opened a place for Golladay to work with Joe Burrow. The Bengals have used some high picks on receivers over the past few years, from Higgins to Boyd to John Ross. The latter, a top-10 pick, agreed with the giants this week.

Although the Bengals are traditionally not a team known for spending off-season, they deviated from their regular course last year by signing up for a few free tickets. Golladay comes from a season in which thigh muscle and hip ailments limit him to five games, but the two-time receiver of 1,000 yards will definitely qualify as a superb addition. Since the Giants are underway and the Dolphins are linked to the four-year veteran before the market opens, this signing will not be cheap.
